Since November 2002, the city and Sacramento Public Library have been partnering to enhance service levels at Sylvan Oaks Library. The city approves supplemental funding to allow Sylvan Oaks Library to be open 4 more hours each week than any other library in the county.
Through the years, Sylvan Oaks Library has seen circulation, programs, and attendance increase dramatically. The City Council is proud to support these enhanced services as a means to improve quality of life in Citrus Heights for our residents. The city and Sacramento Public Library have partnered on many projects such as increased library hours and improved technology such as:

All shelves are filled to capacity to accommodate the approximately 80,000-item collection. Slavic, Chinese, Spanish, and Russian language materials are in demand. Adult seating is primarily at large tables, except for a few lounge seats. The teen area is a nook with beanbag chairs and neon signage. The community room is large enough to accommodate library and community programs. Groups of 10 or more are allowed to use the room for meetings as well as in literacy tutoring meetings.
