On March 24, 2022, the City Council approved a new licensing requirement for properties used as a short-term rental. A short-term rental (STR) is a residential dwelling, or part of, that is rented on a short-term basis (30 days or less). STRs are commonly found advertised on and rented through on-line platforms such as Airbnb or VRBO. The new regulations will require the host or property owner of the STR to obtain a business license prior to operation.
Applications will begin to be accepted on May 2, 2022 and will become required as of May 14, 2022. The Business License for a short-term rental is $101.76 for the first year and is renewed annually. Applications are submitted on-line through the Business License Portal.
